On an extensive search for a suitable and not so flashy gaming mid atx case, this won me over. I purchased this case for $39.99 with free shipping so it was a deal off the bat. It’s smaller than my other cases but everything fit perfectly snug with room for CrossFire/SLI.

    Pros:

    Great simple look.

Four(4) expansion slots for DVD/CD/Blu-ray drives.

    Mesh drive bay covers

Small window view of the CPU

Expansion(3) slots for up to 120mm fans.

Fairly quiet 120mm rear output fan.

    Bottom loaded Power Supply.

    Cons:

    Only (2) front USB 2.0

Front headphone input jack has a hissing noise.

Only included (3) tool less mounts, each for DVD/CD/bluray drive, floppy, and Hard Drive.

Does not include screws for case fans. *easy fix (Home Depot has “Pan Head Phillips” #10×1/2″ (9) for $0.65).

Front intake fan makes a lot of noise(could be just the fan I purchased and installed)

May have an issue if an over sized CPU cooler is installed.

Overall I’m not disappointed. It was easy to install the internal parts with the provided screws. I took my time and finished in approximately two hours.

    My Build:

    Thermaltake V3

    Corsair 850w Power Supply

    Gigabyte P55A-UD3

    Intel i5 750 Cpu

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Quiet CPU Cooler

    4gb Corsair XMS3

    Sapphire Radeon 5770 video card

    Samsung F3 1tb sata HDD

    WD green 1tb sata HDD

Sony Nec 24x sata DVD drive

    Windows 7 64-bit OS

I really like this case but it does have some issues.

    Pros

    ————-

    Very sturdy case

    Holds 6 fans(1 bottom, 2 top, 1 rear, 1 side, 1 front)

Nice paint job on both inside and outside

Dust filters in most fan intake spots

Comes with a nice quite fan

    Looks awesome with red lights

    Cons

    ————-

Top fans will not fit inside case, must put on outside

Cable management isn’t so great but doable. It’s really not so bad.

Side panels fall of easy but a simple thumb screw will take care of that.

There is only 1 3.25 bay but not a huge issue

My ASUS Triton 78 CPU cooler almost wouldn’t fit because the motherboard is too close to the top of the case. Be careful if you have a wide cooler.

Really good case for the money and I would by again. The only thing I really hate about it is that the top fans have to go on the outside. I don’t see them fitting on the inside at all. My RAM slots are almost touching the top of the case. If Thermaltake would make this case taller and lower the motherboard holes about an 1.5inches then it would be a great case. Also they need to give you more space behind the motherboard tray for cables and supply a grill for the bottom fan because your cable will get caught in it.

I love this case. It is strong and efficient. It has really fantastic air flow. I would suggest buying an extra fan or two and populating the fan spaces. The air flow goes in at the back bottom where the power supply pushes air in. Then it goes out the top.

But where this case really shines is when you put a Corsair H50 water cooler in. For about 80 bucks, you get a water cooler that is extraordinarily efficient. Set it up to blow air in from the back through the radiator, and in at the power supply, and up out the two top fan grills. Your CPU will never be cooler. And you will never hear the fans, unless you have superman ears.

I am giving this case a five star review because I have built a few computers over the years and by far Thermaltake makes the best cases I have ever worked with. The case is designed and constructed to Thermaltake’s high standards and I am not disappointed in this case. MY PROBLEM, however, is the fact that Amazon describes this case a ATX/microATX. THIS CASE IS NOT ATX SIZED! From the documents included with the case it is designed for either microATX or miniITX form factor motherboards. The ONLY thing that is ATX sized is power supply opening. Again, Amazon is not the only company to make this mistake as I checked out the same case on other websites and they too list this as an ATX case. So if you are considering this case please keep this in mind. Otherwise this case is very nice and has a great many features I like such as tool-less opening, sturdy construction, and great air flow over components.

Nice box, well made and sturdy but also huge and heavy. I thought when the product was called a LANbox that it would be compact and light but it is just as huge and heavy as my other full tower case and weighs the same so what makes it a LANbox? I guess because it is more box shaped than rectangular. If I was naming it I would call it a “weighted companion cube”. I also had problems with the wiring being too short to fit my front panel connectors.

Great box. I love the blue led. Plenty of room inside. Since you can detach all the different pieces of the box, it’s easy to add/change components.

Unfortunately, this case isn’t my ideal mATX case (I haven’t found one yet), but it’s very well made and attractive.

Cable management is difficult, but not any more difficult than other mATX SFF cases I’ve seen.

I would really have liked to see a things to make this excellent:

    1. Black powder coated inside

    2. A better cable management system

    3. Slightly repositioned HDD cage

    4. Larger case fans

I built a new computer and I used this as my tower, if you want to know the pros well read all the 5 star reviews previously posted and you will see them listed very clearly there. Now for the life in me I could not figure out how to slide the top lid back into place. I studied the slot mechanism that is suppose to fall in place once pressure is applied but the fact is that I could not get enough pressure to slide the lid back in place without bending the metal. I built the whole computer in 2 hours and spent an hour trying to close the top lid. I gave up and decided to test my luck another day. If anyone knows the secret to closing the lid please leave a comment. As for my other complaint this box did not provide an adequate slot for placing a generic media card reader anywhere on it so that was a downside. Apart from that I had a little hard time adjusting my mother board to the power cable provided since they were different from one another and I ended up having to adapt the cable in order to make it work. Good luck to you guys with this great tower. It really is amazing! now if it had only brought an extra 6mm fan with it.
