I saw a review on a similar case by the same company just a different size on G4 and this carrying case has a great deal of functionality. There is plenty of room to carry lots of gear. The amount of gear I had in this thing I’ll list below to give an idea.

This thing can hold quite a bit and maybe even a little more. It’s very durable has a comfortable carrying strap as well as handles. The hidden pocket compartments are a decent size to slip in some small devices like cellphones and/or digi cams. The material is solid and the zippers are durable. There’s really not a whole lot more you can say about a laptop case like this. If you’re looking for something that can hold quite a bit of stuff then this is something to invest in.

Recently got the Targus zip thru. Used it on a casual business trip. Convenient as I did not have to unzip my laptop to go thru security.
One side of bag is for laptop: I have a heavy 17′ HP laptop; fits well; there’s strap and padding in bag to hold laptop and prevent damage.
Other side of bag is for other stuff: There’s enough room for wires, rechargers, books, and whatever you want to stuff. I’m a light traveller so the amount of room was more than enough.
It’s lightweight; especially good for heavy 17′ laptops. The shoulder strap was OK (could have been longer) and fairly comfortable (could use more padding); it may be difficult on bigger people to strap across the opposite shoulder. I did not have any problems with shoulder pain. The hand carry is made of leather and very comfortable. The bottom had rubber stops to prevent sliding.
In terms of durability, the bag was well made and appears sturdy, but I’ve only had it for about a month.
Drawbacks: If you want wheels or want to look ultra-professional (e.g. high fashion or leather), this is not the bag.

I just returned from multiple travel destinations where I was able to fully experience this case. I have a Gateway P-FX7811 which is a beast, 17″ screen and very heavy, but the features I wanted in a laptop. I used to have a Dell 17″ and was using that nice leather carrying case, but my FX7811 barely fit in it and dell case was getting so old, needed a new one. All the 17″ cases I’ve seen and tried in stores have just been too small for my laptop, as it appears slightly larger than the normal 17″.
In this case my laptop fits extremely comfortably and is well protected. On the other side of the case I have more than enough room for business papers, my Senheiser 280 Pro Headset, Sony 9″ DvD player, DvD Case, wires, cables, business cards, the works. All this is extremely LIGHT compared to my prior Dell case, probably because it was leather and heavy to start with.
Moving through security in airports used to be a pain in the neck. It’s not so much easier as I don’t have to remove my laptop, just my dvd player.
The case is durable, very well built, looks great and delivers on every level a laptop case can be expected to. Very well done Targus.

I’ve flown a few times with this bag, and it’s great. It has ample padding and size to fit my 17-inch notebook AND keep it safe. The front pocket has plenty of room for my AC adapter, portable hard drive, and cables, and the document pocket is big enough to hold a book or two for the plane.
All that, and it’s small enough to fit beneath the seat in front of me, instead of in an overhead bin.
The best part? Going through airport security is EASY with this bag. Before I get in line, I drop my watch and my wallet into one of the front pockets, holding on to my ID card and boarding pass only. When I get to the X-ray machine, I just unzip the main zipper, and the whole bag unfolds right onto the conveyor belt. All I have left to worry about are my shoes, and they go right behind the bag.
No repacking, no hassle– if I use the shoulder strap to grab the bag off the conveyor belt, it folds up to its normal position. Then I can zip it up when I sit down at the bench to put my shoes back on. It really makes things go quickly.

2) The case is very sleak and operational and has plenty of room. I have a 17.5″ screen and the padding and size of the case is perfect.
3) I wish that Targus put ‘rubber bumper guards’ on the corner of the case like they did for their dome model they have, as the corners seem to get beat up ; not to mention those bumber guards help keep the case stand upright; other than that the case meets good quality expectations; having the computer separate from accessories was a big selling point along with the padding…meets those qualifications
