I purchased this laptop, and I love it! I previously owned a Dell Latitude D620, and I wanted something similar but more practical and affordable for grad school. This computer looks nice, runs great, and I am really loving the Windows 7. The only negative is that the laptop shows your fingerprints really easily, so you have to wipe the laptop down if you don’t want to stare at fingerprints. I definitely give this laptop a thumbs up!

This new laptop is amazing. Had it for about a month now and have no complaints. The hdmi connection is essential. No more cable for me baby, all my entertainment comes from this laptop straight to my HD TV in hi-def. 500gb of storage is more than enough to store all my digital files. The speed of the computer is great, the i3 processor is very fast and gets the job done. for the $650 I paid for this, don’t think I could of gotten a better deal out there.

I recently bought this to replace my 5 1/2 year old 17 inch Dell laptop. I wanted a smaller laptop because 17 inches is too large to really fit in the lap. The size of this is perfect in that regard, though it is noticeable that web pages get cut off at the bottom a bit, forcing me to scroll down, but not badly enough to really bother me.

The screen is crystal clear, it’s very fast for both processing and opening web pages. It has the new line of Intel laptop chips, which I suppose is good. It’s also kind of cute and streamlined. I didn’t realize it until the computer arrived, but it plays Blu Ray disks, in addition to DVDs and CDs. It also has a little slot so you can put your digital camera card in and it sees it as another drive, allowing you to manipulate the picture files however you like and to easily clear of all or most of them from the camera card. Much to my surprise I actually like Windows 7. They copied the Mac OS in style, making it very pleasant and simple to use. Usually I complain about Windows OS being overbearing and intrusive, but not Windows 7.

My computer came with a partitioned hard drive. I’m admittedly too lazy to figure out how to put what on which partition, so I called Dell and they told me how to delete the 2nd partition, which was quite easy. About Dell customer service. The first call I made, it was just like the other reviewer says, the guy read from a script, didn’t know anything and when he didn’t know an answer, he just kept repeating himself. I got so frustrated that I told him I was hanging up because he obviously couldn’t help me. I called back again 20 minutes later and got someone who really knows Windows and computers and who didn’t need to read off of a script. He was wonderful and pleasant and even had a sense of humor. The moral of the story is, if you don’t like who you’re talking to, hang up and call again. No need to get mad.

There are still one or 2 things for me to work out, but it’s a great little laptop with a nice big hard drive. I got it 2 days after I ordered it and for $633, it can’t be beat.

It would be advisable to research Dell’s customer service record before purchasing one of their computers.

My wife spent 3 hours on the phone, being transfered from one department to another, resulting in absolutely no help. Part of the problem was that the Dell reps could not comprehend the problem… reading mostly from scripts on a computer screen. The problem was an obvious factory error in the setup of the computer and Dell didn’t want to take responsibility or have the know-how to fix it. When my wife asked to be transferred to level 3 help in North America, after 3 hours, she ended up being connected to an operator in India instead of the proper department. Dell wanted $129 to fix a new computer with a factory flaw. BEWARE!
