Great mATX case. Sleek design. Many cases have clear sides with LED’s all over the place. It’s a computer case, not a spaceship. This one won’t serve as a reading lamp for you in bed from your desk across the bedroom.

Built-in fan is whisper quiet and keeps the case quite cool. My single complaint is the difficulty in taking off the front plate. The bottom and sides unclip very easily, but unclipping the top I thought I might snap the front plate in two. However, since I’ve finished the build, I’ll have no need to take the plate off again, so it’s not a huge deal. I did need needle-nose pliers to unclip the top though.

This box is a good, inexpensive Micro ATX box. It comes with enough directions and parts that someone who doesn’t build computers for a living can put it together. It also comes with a quiet fan. There are no rough edges inside and everything fits. Yes, it is a little tight in there and 2nd hard drive placement may require some longer wires, but that was not an issue for me. Most of the smaller boxes that I looked at did not have room for a second hard drive, a second optical drive and full sized cards. This one did, which is why I bought it. Nothing fancy here, just a good basic box.

Great case. A lot of options for placing fans. I have 3 120mm fans in it (front, 1 side and rear). Desktop runs cool all the time.

    Pros:

    – Best in class cooling with room for 4x120mm fans

    – Ability for near 100% filter coverage for an almost dust-free case (simply add filters to the side panel and seal the front filter – read ‘Other Thoughts’)

    – Fits large graphics cards (using with an ATI Radeon 5870)

    – Nice ‘rugged’ finish to it; not a glossy paint that catches lots of fingerprints but a matte like finish.

    – Light but sturdy construction; almost ripped off the side panel (user error, not case’s fault – look at Cons) while trying to open it and it doesn’t show any damage

    Cons:

    – Didn’t read about the security screw for the side panel. Kept me from opening the side panel for drive screws until I simply realized that little screw was holding it tight. Keep that in mind. =P

    – Plastic front bezel has a gap at the bottom to help in pulling off the bezel. This reduces the effectiveness of the front filter (simple fix for this, just add some tape)

    Other Thoughts:

I wanted a small case to house a powerful system while keeping dust out. Taping the bottom portion where the front bezel is makes the front fan utilize the filter better. Add 2 aluminum fan filters and fans to the side, and you can get over 120CFM of dust-free cool air for your system. Not bad.

    Easily fits my setup:

    – Core i5 750 (stock) with room temp idle temps

    – 8GB (4x2GB) G. Skill ECO Series RAM @ 1.4V @ 7-7-7-21 @ 1333MHz

    – Western Digital 500GB Caviar Black

    – XFX 5870 1GB GPU

this case was a great buy. so much room for new cards (my old case was a slim dell pc), and transferring my stuff into his new case was a breeze. didn’t even need the instructions that came with it! i like the all black, sleek look as well, and adding led case fans makes it look really nice, not like a giant lightbulb that clear plexi windowed cases resemble. i think i might buy another one just to see how cheap i can make a completely new compy.

Well.. as a case its very good. But i could not use the 550W psu that came with it. I dont know if it was bad or my gigabyte motherboard with amd athlon x2 needed more. I had to buy an antec psu finally. So everything is good in this case except the psu. It might be different for different motherboard used. But be careful about this

I was amazed at how nice the case was for its price. The only problem that I had with it was that the PSU only had one 4 pin 12v motherboard plug. If you use a motherboard that takes an 8 pin, I recommend that you buy an adapter.

UPDATE: It worked fine for about two weeks, then the PSU died. I would recommend another product instead.

I was looking at all the name brand cases for quite some time. Then I ran into this on Amazon and bought it right away. That the largest fan I’ve ever seen on a case. The case is beautiful when it’s on. The installation was easy for the most part but feels kind of cheap. Doesn’t look cheap tho =)

    Only a few small gripes:

You have to use metal clippers if you want to replace the keyboard/usb/speaker metal template in the back with a custom one from your motherboard vendor.

Some of the screws don’t fit in correctly. I have a ton of screws from the other 100 computers I’ve built and none of them worked, I had to use the ones that came with this case. Just don’t lose them I guess =)

I’m using the powre supply that came with the case and it’s worked fine so far. Overall I would really recommend this product as it does what other cases do but does it in style. The case is also quite light. It was a great buy.

    No problem using the case.

Tight spaces inside but functional otherwise.

    Like the huge side fan!

Agreed no space behind the motherboard to run cables but there’s room to run the cables behind the drive bays. Note that I’m using a “GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard” so the footrpint is small.

No problem at all with the back plate for the motherboard outs, use the one that came with board.

Also nice tiny MB speaker too.

I can’t believe Newegg stopped selling this case.

First off this case is absolutely beautiful. Very slim & sleek.

Plenty of room for a mid-tower case with 4 5 1/2″ and 7 3 1/2″ bays. As you can see it has the 250mm intake plus it can take a 120mm intake and a 120mm exhaust. Can handle over sized psu’s and full size ATX motherboards.

I’m running an overclocked core2 and two overclocked 8800gts cards in SLI and neither card reaches above 62c peak when playing intensive games. Outstanding cooling!

    For reference:

Case is too thin for tall cpu coolers like the Zalmon 9700.

This is due to the 250mm fan. The zalmon 9700 is about 3/4″ too high. Case is made of steal yet it’s fairly thin & lightweight.

For the most part it’s strong enough but the back plating of the case is a little thin/weak. Take care when removing/replacing the stock faceplate or you can bend the metal rather easily. Also you can cut yourself removing this faceplate.

I must stress again how pretty this case is. It is very high gloss black so many flat black dvd drives don’t blend all that well. Make sure you get very dark black dvd drive for a good blend. Has silver trim so silver can work very nice as well.

I haven’t used the stock 550w power supply included so I can’t comment on that.

Because the case is very thin you’ll have to use the empty drive bays to hide your cables. there’s no room for this under the motherboard tray as the right case cover is snug against the tray.

Overall a top notch cooling solution for a decent price. These can be had for cheaper on eebay although they don’t always use the cases name(939pl-black) in the title so you might have to do some searching. I picked up mine for $35 new.
