Mine are running at 1800 rpm and are very noisy. My GPU’s are running 3 degrees cooler but I’m not sure if it’s worth it for the noise. I’m trying to slow them down but my EVGA X58 mobo doesn’t seem to be able to control it below 100% output. So at 50% output I might only get a degree or two of cooling on the GPU’s. I have yet to try to tap these into the chassis power to see what RPM they run at. Right now they are plugged into the motherboard. I do like the red LED lights though. I would rate these a star or two higher if I could get the to work properly, which is more because of the mobo I’m sure.

    Update 15May10

I bought a Kaze Q fan controller. I can turn the fan down to less noisy RPM. It’s still a noisy fan, but the cooling is good. I could say, with a fan controller, these fans are worth another full to 1/2 star. Its the only fan in the case I can hear running.

I wrote a review a few months ago when I had purchased these fans, praising their quality and performance. I regret that I am taking it back now. I bought three of them for my Cosmos S and I wont lie, they were awesome. They looked great, moved a ton of air and didn’t make too much noise for 2000 RPM.

About six months later, all three of them are dead while my two other Coolermaster fans live on. One of them simply doesn’t work, probably burned out. The other two sound like jackhammers and nothing I did was able to restore them. I don’t understand why. They rarely spun full speed because I don’t overclock and game that much and I always keep my case clean.

I purchased three of the standard 1200 RPM fans from CM, as they seem pretty reliable — two of them have been merrily spinning in my case for over a year now without issue.

I’m not sure if I had a bad batch or tough luck but these fans were a bit disappointing.

The Cooler Master 120mm Red LED Case Fan is a great case fan but do not buy this fan for the LED lights since they are not the best at all. On the other hand it’s a very low sound fan, and keeps my case very cool.

this fan pushs alot of air, but the leds are not what I thought they would be, put this as a rear exhaust in my cooler master HAF 922 along with three other 200mm red led fans and the leds just are not near as bright and don’t really go with the other fans, but cool master does make quality fans and it pushs alot of air at a reasonable to good noise level

It is not the noisiest fan I have had but it is definitely drowning out the other 4 fans in the case twice over. I have some nice 17db fans for a rear case fan, cpu cooler, and 2 for PSU. This fan is louder than all 4 of the others put together. It has a small whine and the design makes for noisy airflow. I like how it looks but I may have to remove it or replace it if I need more cooling for the video card heatsink. Since I am not running a high end machine I did not get it for utility, only for aesthetics.
