Buying A Micro ATX Case

A good ATX case is the key to keeping your computer setup efficient, streamlined, and compact. Many people go ahead and purchase a large case and place a small computer inside. If you have an okay case already, or one which you can’t part with, this isn’t a terrible answer. If you need to get a new case, think about a Micro ATX case to house your small computer.

By putting your micro computer in an appropriate case, you’ll be rewarded by a few benefits :

– It will consume less space.

Saving space is an obvious benefit, having a much smaller tower under on on your desk gives you a much more comfortable work space. If your computer is small enough, you can find cases that would allow you to keep it in a drawer in your desk. However, that would be bad for the computer due to the heating issues. But the idea is that with the right case, and a power supply you could easily store your computer anywhere.

It Looks Pretty Cool

A smaller case actually does look pretty cool. Similar to when gaming consoles get recreated in a smaller version everyone is fascinated, even though the insides are basically the same. The same goes for computers. Does the Mac Mini really need to be that small? but they look cool and for many people that is the deciding factor in whether to purchase a Mac instead of a PC. To obtain the form and function of micro cases for a PC all you have to do is not waste space and plastic when building your computer.

It’s Environmentally Friendly

Well this is kind of an odd one, but still, some people like that they’re wasting far less plastic on micro cases. This could be a significant decision maker for you if you are into green living and being environmentally friendly. These cases use anywhere from ten to fifty percent (or more) less plastic than their full sized counterparts.

Prevents Overheating

Many people believe that all of the hollow space within a computer case serve to dissipate heat and keep a cool computer. Fact is, it turns the whole thing into a great big oven. Your computer’s fan works to cool down the air surrounding the hardware within the case, and not the physical hardware. Obviously, your computer will not overheat as much by having a better case.

You’ll Use Less Electricity

And of course, if you’re using a smaller fan to cool a smaller amount of space, it stands to reason that you’ll be saving some money on electricity. A fan is made to keep an entire case cool, so if you have s smaller area to cool, the fan won’t have to work as hard.

That is the long and short of it. If you’re not convinced, well, then at least you know what the appeal of these cases happens to be: They look cool, they’re more practical, and they’re incredibly convenient for anyone with a smaller computer on their desktop.
